Carter Distribution Center

The Distribution Facility is located adjacent to the Chattahoochee River in Douglasville, Georgia.  The proximity to the river allowed us to design this 1 Million Square Foot Distribution Center without providing Detention.  We were able to provide an analysis of the peak of the Chattahoochee River and show that by providing detention, we would actually increase the flood stage of the Chattahoochee River.  By not detaining the stormwater we “Beat the Peak” of the Chattahoochee River.  For Water Quality, we designed a Wetland Pond that captured the first inch of rainfall and treated the oils and heavy metals.
