Science & Allied Health Building

During design, emphasis was placed on preserving the existing trees and obtaining LEED Certification. The first issue to tackle was parking. We worked with the city to provide alternate parking scenarios and feasibility studies along Bancroft Street and Fairhope Avenue. To promote a green campus we designed a pervious parking area adjacent to School Street. In order to obtain LEED Certification, the design incorporated exfiltration pipes, infiltration trenches, and storage and percolation of the two year storm event. Other LEED credits included protect or restore habitat, maximize open space, and stormwater quality control.
